Those visiting the high school recently may have noticed the beautiful clean-up of our front sign and surrounding area. A huge thank you to the Wayland High School PTO and Lynch Landscaping for their support in this effort! The sign, now surrounded by new mulch and fresh seasonal plantings, is simply glowing and offers a lovely welcome to our school campus. (See pictures below.)
For 9th Grade Caregivers
- A special thanks to those who were able to join us this Thursday for “Ninth Grade Caregivers’ Night.” If you couldn't be there, the event will soon be posted on WayCam. The highlight of the evening was our insightful student panel, featuring 10th graders Assata Burton, Reese Doody, and Sloane Simon, and 11th graders Grace DiStefano, Junyi Frenzel, Zaara Qadir, and Firaas Syed.
- During the next two weeks, 9th grade advisory teachers will host conferences for parents and caregivers of the Class of 2030. Invitations and information have been sent out. These brief conferences are designed for conversation about your child’s overall transition to WHS and any concerns or questions that caregivers may have. Here is my letter about these conferences.
A Notice about Prayer Spaces
In Wayland Public Schools, we strive to foster a welcoming environment where every student feels seen and supported. Please be aware that all of our schools provide a designated quiet space for midday prayer and contemplative practice for students and staff. At WHS, the designated space is the Music Practice Room (A150) during lunch blocks. Students may ask a staff member for assistance in locating and using this space. Please note: These are multipurpose spaces and may occasionally be in use. In these rare instances, students may ask a staff member for assistance in locating an alternative quiet space.
Thank you for your continued support and partnership as we cultivate a sense of belonging for all of our students.
Technology Updates
- Our educational campaign, “Don’t Be a Bot,” now has a website! Within the WHS website, please click here to see where we are capturing all Advisory messaging about AI and policy links.
- Please remember that devices brought from home are not allowed at WHS. Students are expected to bring and use their school-provided laptop each day for instruction and learning.
Athletics Updates
Our fall season is speeding right along, with lots to celebrate! Please see
this summary of our sports teams thus far, compiled and written by Athletics Assistant Erin Ryan.
Enjoy the long weekend!
