Academic Support Center

Welcome to the Academic Support Center!

The Academic Support Center is a regular-education support for students.  It is a place where students can get help with their school work and academic skills. Students can drop into the ASC any time they need help on an assignment, need a quiet place to work, or need to borrow a textbook or other school supplies.  Students may be scheduled into the ASC during their free blocks or study halls for regular, ongoing support.  The ASC also offers peer tutoring; students can drop in for help, but it is recommended that students sign up for a regular time once or twice a cycle with our peer tutors to make sure a tutor is available.

Academic Center Q&A

  • Monday: 8:00-3:30
    Tuesday: 8:00-4:15
Wednesday: 8:00-3:30 (occasionally the ASC will have to close at 2:30 for teacher PD)
    Thursday: 8:00-4:15
    Friday: 8:00-3:30

  • The Academic Support Center is a classroom at the back of the library.  Students can access the classroom either by walking through the library or through a back door in the math hallway.
  • When a student is scheduled for Academic Support blocks, the student comes to the ASC at certain times instead of Study Hall or a free period. The Academic Support teachers work with the student to identify their areas of need and then support the student’s growth in those areas.  This could include planning, time management, organization, test preparation, etc.  Academic Support teachers will monitor students’ progress through PowerSchool and through regular communication with classroom teachers.

  • All students can drop in for help in the ASC or sign up for a Peer Tutor. Students will be scheduled for Academic Support Blocks when recommended by the Intervention Team.

  • If a student wants to schedule a regular time to meet with a Peer Tutor, they can stop by the Academic Support Center any time to sign up.

Students interested in being a peer tutor can also stop by or email Ms. Lima or Mr. Argyrou.
