WHS Friday Message

From Principal Allyson Mizoguchi

May 29, 2026
Today was the last day of school for the Class of 2026! As is tradition, they began the day in the commons with a class breakfast sponsored by the Wayland Police Department; at the end of the day, they gathered on the courtyard and then ran through the South building just before the final bell. Next week will be full of class activities and celebrations, culminating with Graduation on Friday, June 5, at 6:00 p.m. I warmly invite the entire community to join us as we send off this accomplished class!

Reminders & Gratitude

  • Next Tuesday and Wednesday morning, all 9th graders will take the Biology MCAS tests. Families should please review the letter I sent earlier this week with more information.

  • Next Wednesday, all juniors will participate in Career Day, when they will spend the morning connecting with three different professionals representing careers of interest. Juniors will receive their specific Career Day schedules in Advisory on Monday. Thank you to the WHS PTO for coordinating this meaningful event, and to the professionals offering their time and expertise to our students!

  • Congratulations and thanks to the WHS Band for playing in the Memorial Day community event this past weekend (unfortunately held indoors this year due to rain), and to sophomore Nathaniel Hopper for eloquently reading the Gettysburg Address.

  • Our annual Underclass Awards event will be held on Monday, June 8, at 3:30 p.m. (students only) in the WHS Auditorium. Students receiving awards, and their families, will be notified via email early next week.

  • Thank you to CAPA for hosting such a spirited Fine Arts Night this week, to the students whose visual art and musical gifts were celebrated, and to the teachers who nurture their growth!

  • Athletics update: Postseason play is underway! Please enjoy this recap of the week, written by Athletics Assistant Erin Ryan.

End of Year Schedule

As we sprint towards the end of the school year, please be reminded of our schedule:

  • Wed. June 17: Science final exam
  • Thurs. June 18: Math final exam
  • Mon. June 22: Regular dismissal @ 3:10 p.m.
  • Tues. June 23: Last day/early dismissal @ 12:15 p.m.

Enjoy the weekend!
