Chromebook Tips
Most of the ways you interact with a Chromebook will be familiar to you regardless of the OS you’re used to, but there are a few things that this page will highlight either because of features that are unique to ChromeOS, or because your only Chromebook experience was at the middle school.
Multiple User Logins
The Chromebooks are configured to allow you to add mutliple logins so you can have school login and a personal login on the computer at the same time. Here are some things you should know about using multiple profiles:
Each porofile needs to be added separately. To add your personal profile, log out of your school one, click the “Add Person” button at the bottom of the screen and log in with your personal account.
In order to use both profiles at the same time, you must be logged in with your school profile first! [screenshots when the settings are updated]. Once that’s done, you can click on the system tray in the lower right corner, click on the power button, click on yoru account (email address), and finally add another user. From here you can log in with your personal profile and use this same procedure to switch back and forth between profiles.
Bluebook, MCAS, Other Apps
While you will access most resources while you’re logged into the Chromebook as a student, to access Bluebook, the MCAS testing app, and other select apps, you need to fully log out of the device and click on the “Apps” button at the bottom of the login screen.
